FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing glass. The method of producing glass from powdered raw material in a furnace, having lateral walls, a roof, a front wall and at least one air nozzle combined with at least one nozzle for liquid or gaseous fuel, wherein at least one of the said nozzles is on the lateral walls, the roof or front wall. The method comprises steps on which air and gaseous or liquid fuel is forced through said nozzles, and a flame jet or each flame jet is created only in the immediate vicinity of the zone where the said powdered raw material covers glass mass, wherein air is forced through the nozzle in the furnace roof, and fuel is forced through the nozzle on the level of the lateral walls of the furnace or vice-versa. The position of the nozzles is controlled such that said two jets - the air jet and the fuel jet meet in the direct vicinity of the zone where the powdered raw material meets the glass mass, while creating a flame jet precisely at that point, i.e. at the centre of combustion.
EFFECT: improved glass-melting and clarification process and high efficiency of the furnace.
