FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in control of stress-strained state of pipeline by linear strain pickup and control of acoustic emission caused by developing defects of pipeline by means of acoustic emission pickups. Stress-strained state of pipeline and acoustic emission caused developing defects of pipeline are measured simultaneously with determination of coefficient of correlation between measured magnitudes. In case said coefficient exceeds preset threshold values, dangerous state of pipeline is ascertained.
