SUBSTANCE: for post-processing of spectral values based on a first conversion algorithm in order to convert an audio signal into a spectral representation, a sequence of blocks of spectral values representing a sequence of blocks of audio signal samples is created. Weighted addition of spectral values of the sequence of blocks of spectral values is then performed to obtain a sequence of blocks of post-processed spectral values, where combination is performed such that, in order to calculate the post-processed spectral value for the frequency range and the time period, the spectral value of the sequence of blocks for the frequency range and the time period and the spectral value for another frequency range or another time period is used, where further combination is performed such that, weighted coefficients are used, where said coefficients are such that post-processed spectral values are close to spectral values obtained by converting the audio signal into a spectral presentation using a second conversion algorithm which is different from the first conversion algorithm. Post-processed spectral values, in particular, are used to generate a difference within a scalable coder or for addition within a scalable decoder.
EFFECT: efficient concept of processing audio data, especially coding or decoding audio data.
