FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection and can be used in disaster situations associated with rocket fuel spills: unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH), as well as in cleaning soil and the ground on impact points of separating booster stages. The method for detoxification of UDMH in the soil or ground involves treatment with a chemical reagent in form of an aqueous solution which is glyoxal with concentration of 10-40 vol. %, in stoichiometric ratio of UDMH to glyoxal of not less than 1:3.

EFFECT: relatively cheap technique with high technological effectiveness.
