FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for purifying water and soil from combustible rocket fuel, oil products and their derivatives, nitrogen-, phosporus-, and sulphur-containing substances and other toxicants in their spillage sites. Soil or aquatic medium is treated with sodium- or potassium ferrate (IV) and an oxygen-active oxidising agent, which converts iron from a low oxidation state to a higher oxidation state, either during their simultaneous use, predominantly in powdered state at pH=2-12, or an oxygen-active oxidising agent at pH=8-12 which is less active with respect to organic pollutants is added to the soil or aquatic medium at the beginning, and then a ferrate or its mixture with an oxidising agent at pH=2-7 which is more active with respect to organic pollutants.
EFFECT: increased degree of purity of soil and aqueous media, cutting on reagent consumption and reduced cost of reagents.
