FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: stand for demonstrating physical properties of magnetic liquids has a vessel with magnetic liquid and a magnetic field source. The magnetic field source is in form of a multipolar magnet system consisting of electromagnets with detachable pole terminals, the surfaces of which lie in one horizontal plane, and is placed in a nonmagnetic housing. The vessel with magnetic liquid is placed over the magnet system. The stand is provided with a system for illuminating the surface of the magnetic liquid, comprising one or more light sources, a programmable unit for controlling current of electromagnets and the illumination system. The number of light sources in the illumination system corresponds to the number of electromagnets of the magnet system. The light beam from each light source is directed onto the corresponding electromagnet.

EFFECT: simple process of replacing magnetic liquids with different properties, clearer and visual perception of the stand.
