FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: stand is fitted with an open magnetic core with a magnetisation coil and detachable pole terminals, over one of which there is a vessel containing magnetic liquid. The vessel is in form of a cup with a flat bottom. The power supply has a current regulator. The illumination system comprises at least one light source whose change in power and colour can be measured. The power supply can be pulsed with frequency regulator. The magnetic core can be in form of a cylinder, having an annular groove on the end surface, in which the magnetisation coil is placed. The vessel can be made from nonmagnetic material, for example, optically transparent material.

EFFECT: clearer demonstration of physical properties of magnetic liquids and technological effectiveness of servicing the stand.
