FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: stand has a housing made from nonmagnetic material, on the face of which there is a vessel with magnetic liquid. A magnetic field source is placed under the vessel with possibility of rotation thereof in the horizontal plane and vertical back-and-forth movement by a controlled drive. The magnetic field source is in form of a magnet system consisting of a magnetically conductive disc on which there is at least one permanent magnet. The controlled drive has an actuation mechanism, having a vertical support with a roller at the free end on which a platform with a motor is placed with possibility of vertical back-and-forth movement. The shaft of the motor is rigidly attached to a disc of varying thickness resting on the roller of the support. The illumination system has at least one colour halogen lamp with narrow-directed light flux.
EFFECT: clearer demonstration of physical properties of magnetic liquids and technological effectiveness of servicing the stand.
