SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture. The method includes peeling of stubble after precursor harvesting, real tillage, application of rated doses of phosphorus-potassium fertilisers for tillage, levelling of field relief, early spring harrowing, sowing at the soil temperature of +2÷+3°C in the layer of 0-10 cm and application of nitrogen fertilisers, post-sowing rolling and irrigation in the main phenological phases. After full sprouts within the first ten days and the next twenty days after the spouts, increment of vegetative green mass is experimentally identified, and the forecasted crop capacity of the safflower green mass is established through calculation using the formula Q=0.10*(M2-M1)*(dN+cai+ebiNgNqqPkqk+f+k)*T.

EFFECT: method makes it possible, with an error of ±10%, to forecast crop capacity of safflower green mass before blossoming, which is eaten most by animals as green fodder, and when laid into trenches for ensilage.
