FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method involves optimisation of calathidium harvesting terms and calculation definition of safflower cypselas at the calathidium formation stage. During the calathidium formation phase one establishes the number of stalks and primary branches per 1 m2 of area within control plots in 5-fold replication. One measures safflower plant length, length of primary branches, safflower stalk root part diametre, diametre of primary branch at the stalk, number of calathidia per primary branch. Relying on the cultivar description one establishes the number of cypselas per calathidium and the weight of 1000 establishes, with forecast safflower cypsela yield calculated from the expression
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of forecasting the amount of green mass and seed productivity of dyer's-saffron prospective cultivars.
