FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a multilayer coating system comprising at least one layer a) and at least one layer b), where at least one layer a) and at least one layer b) have at least one common boundary. Layer a) contains a coating composition a) which contains at least one compound with an isocyanate functional group, a base with latent photosensitivity and at least one compound with a thiol functional group. Layer b) contains an aqueous coating composition b) which contains at least 17 mol/kg with respect to the weight of the coating composition b), a catalyst for an addition reaction of at least one compound with a thiol functional group and at least one compound with an isocyanate functional group. The invention also describes a method of producing a multilayer coating system comprising the following steps: (i) applying a coating b) onto a substrate, (ii) applying a layer a) before or after applying layer b) and (iii) hardening layer a) at room temperature or high temperature, optionally supported by irradiation with ultraviolet and/or visible light. Described also is a method of increasing hardening viscosity in the multilayer coating system, involving applying a transparent coating composition a) on top of the base coating layer b) obtained from the aqueous basic coating composition b).
EFFECT: obtaining a multilayer coating system which is fast-setting in shadow areas or even without any exposure to visible or ultraviolet light, and has low level of effect on the other layer, good hardness, flexibility, scratch resistance, good lustre and good solvent- and water-resistance.
