FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: regulation of voltage across a photomultiplier used in a radiation detector based on a scintillation counter involves a step on which the number of voltage pulses is determined, each of which has one set of predetermined amplitude values, generated by the photomultiplier in accordance with events of radiation, which is picked up by a scintillation detector. The number of voltage pulses with each of the predetermined amplitude values is sent to a trained artificial neural network. The artificial neural network generates a signal corresponding to the value of regulating voltage across the photomultiplier.
EFFECT: high accuracy of regulating voltage across a photomultiplier.
