FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: three electrodes are used, being assembled as a triangle and isolated from each other by means of a coating. Prior to ignition of an autonomous three-phase arc, a DC arc is ignited between ends of three electrodes and a part at the current force of 6-15 A. After the ends of electrodes are heated above the melting temperature, DC arc supply is disconnected. Three-phase arc supply is connected, and an autonomous three-phase arc is ignited between the heated ends of electrodes.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ignite an autonomous three-phase arc from the first contact of a part without additional short circuits and to heat a part in the beginning of a melted roll making.
