FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: aircraft splitted-cycle engine comprises crankshaft 28, power cylinder 34 communicated with compression cylinder 40 via gas transition channel 44, power piston 36, compression piston 42 and valve 52. Engine is arranged on aircraft inside which air tank 26 is located. In one revolution of crankshaft 28 power piston 36 makes working stroke and discharge stroke while compression piston 42 makes intake and compression strokes. Gas transition channel 44 comprises inlet and outlet valves 46 and 48 to make pressure chamber 50 therewith. Air tank 26 is connected with pressure chamber 50 via tank channel 54. Connection is arranged between said inlet and outlet valves 46 and 48. Air tank 26 selectively receives compressed air from compression cylinder 40 to release compressed air into power cylinder 40. Valves 52 control feed and discharge of gas flow in and out of compression cylinder 42, power cylinder 34 and air tank 26. Engine may be operated at high-pressure conditions whereat compression cylinder 40 operates as compression piston with working and exhaust strokes. Besides, invention covers star engine with splitted cycle comprising equal number of power cylinders 134 and compression cylinders 140. Cylinders 134, 140 are arranged radially around crankshaft 128. Block of compression cylinders 138 is misaligned with block of power cylinders 132.
EFFECT: engine to allow keeping and feeding compressed air to aircraft engine and other components.
