FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method enables to measure activity of antioxidants with respect to OH radicals, which are most dangerous to the body. When realising the method during reduction of substance on an electrode in the solution of a background electrolyte, a model reaction is employed, which generates OH radicals. Cathode waves of reducing the substance are recorded in potential interval of -1.2 - -1.9 V relative a saturated silver chloride comparison electrode. A peak appears in the said interval, which is presumably of OH radicals and which falls in proportion to the amount of antioxidant added. Activity of antioxidants is determined from the relative drop of this peak.

EFFECT: invention increases sensitivity of the method of determining activity of antioxidants 277 times.
