SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pharmaceutical industry, in particular to a method of determining the total antioxidant activity of tea extracts by a voltammetry method on a platinum electrode modified with cobalt Co(II) phthalocyanine. The method for determining the total antioxidant activity of tea extracts by the voltammetry method on the platinum electrode modified with cobalt Co(II) phthalocyanine includes the preparation of the modified electrode and determination of the antioxidant activity of the tea extracts, which is carried out at a specified rate of potential sweep and specified work range of potentials, with the application for calculation of a kinetic criterion, which reflects the quantity of active oxygen forms, which reacted with antioxidants per minute; with 0.1 mol/dm3 NaClO4, dissolved in dimethylformamide, being used as a background electrolyte for water-alcohol media.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to estimate the total antioxidant activity of tea extracts by the voltammetry method on the modified electrode with high accuracy and reproducibility.
