FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed illuminator comprises cylindrical lamp that houses cylindrical slit diaphragm. Said lamp accommodates cylindrical diffuser wherein said slit diaphragm is provided with slotted cylinder arranged axially. Slots of said cylinder are arranged so that rays incoming perpendicular slit diaphragm axis (O) converge inside slit diaphragm at point located apart from cylinder axis.

EFFECT: device, method and computer program for cylindrical object surface flaw detection.
