FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: system for optical imaging an object in the field of view comprises an optical plate having a surface which receives the object; a light source for illuminating the surface which receives the object; an imaging system having an image plane and meant for receiving light from the surface which receives the object in order to form an image of the object on the surface which receives the object; and a lens mechanism for focusing light from the surface which receives the object onto the image plane, wherein the system is focused for recording the image in the full field of view and for recording the region of interest in the field of view, and the lens mechanism is a six-component lens; the imaging system is configured to provide a higher frame frequency in the region of interest when the region of interest is smaller than the field of view.

EFFECT: smaller size of the device, recording rolled fingerprints, applied fingerprints and palmprints in one continuous workflow in a compact device, differentiation of moisture, clearer image, enabling use of one scanning device to record palmprints and fingerprints measuring 500 or 1000 pixels per inch.
