FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the oil and gas processing industry for demercaptanisation of oil fractions, oil products and gas condensate and directly on oil and gas fields for deodorising material. The invention relates to a method for oxidative demercaptanisation of hydrocarbon material in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst containing an organic compound deposited on a solid support, wherein the heterogeneous oxidation catalyst used contains 5-10 wt % 3,5-di-tert-butyl o-benzoquinone deposited on aluminium oxide. The process is carried out at temperature 25-50°C while feeding air and the catalyst is regenerated in a current of atmospheric oxygen at the given temperature.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the process of demercaptanisation of hydrocarbon material during prolonged use of the catalyst, low temperature for conducting the process, elimination of the step for preparing oxidative mixtures.
