SUBSTANCE: light-emitting device has at least one light source (1, 4) which emits blue or ultraviolet light, and unit (2, 5) for converting said blue or ultraviolet light into visible light, having at least two sections (2a, 2b, 2c, 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d), at least one section (2c, 6d) of which is a transparent or semitransparent colour conversion section, the said colour conversion unit (2, 5) is configured to alternately illuminate the said at least two sections (2a, 2b, 2c, 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) with the said blue or ultraviolet light, the said at least one conversion section contains luminescent material, where the said luminescent material is a luminescent organic dye in a polymer matrix or a crystalline inorganic luminescent material.
EFFECT: device enables to generate light of any desired colour with high intensity and has a simple and cheap design.
