FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: lighting device has transparent waveguide plate (200), with first surface (201), opposite second surface (202), and edge surface between first surface and second surface. Light source (300) is configured to provide at least part of light source light in a direction perpendicular to one or more of first surface and the second surface. Transparent waveguide plate further comprises luminescent material (400) configured to convert at least part of light source light into luminescent material emission. Light output means (220) are intended for outputting luminescent material emission and optionally light source light out of transparent waveguide plate as lighting device light in a direction away from one or more of first surface and the second surface.
EFFECT: high efficiency of input of light emission from light source into waveguide.
