SUBSTANCE: method to calculate channel assessment using frequency smoothing consists in the fact that a tuning signal is received in a quadrature demodulation receiver, besides, the tuning signal represents multiple reference complex values and multiple appropriate mirror complex values, besides, the sum of products of reference complex values and appropriate mirror complex values equals zero; multiple processed signals are generated (y), which represent complex plant information, on the basis of a tuning signal; each processed signal (y) is multiplied by a coupled value of the appropriate reference complex value (p*), and channel assessment (h) is produced on the basis of multiplication results.

EFFECT: elimination of unbalance between I and Q tracks.
