SEPARATION METHOD OF CHEMICAL ELEMENT FROM URANIUM ( VI ) AND REPROCESSING METHOD OF SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B01D11/04 G21C19/46

Abstract RU 2429041 C2

FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: separation method of chemical element from uranium (VI), beginning with nitric-acid water phase A1 in uranium separation cycle involves several stages. The first stage - uranium (VI) extraction, at which water phase passes with flow velocity D1 in the first extractor in counterflow to organic phase not mixing with water and containing extractant. The second stage is meant for flushing of organic phase obtained after the first stage, nitric-acid water phase A2, at which organic phase passes in the second extractor in counterflow to phase A2. At that, the first and the second extractors are related to each other by such method that water phase passing in the first extractor is formed with phase A1 and phase A2 obtained after the second stage. Since chemical element is present in phase A1 in concentration that is lower than that of uranium (VI) concentration, and is less extracted with the above extractant than uranium (VI), it is accumulated in organic phase during the first stage. At that, the first stage includes removal of some part of water phase passing in the first extractor, at accumulation peak of chemical element in organic phase, or else upstream relative to flow direction of organic phase from this peak. Reprocessing method of spent nuclear fuel and uranium cleaning cycle is also proposed.

EFFECT: extraction of precious chemical element in concentrated and cleaned form.
