FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described is a catalyst for producing synthetic gas via selective catalytic oxidation of hydrocarbons with oxygen, which contains nickel oxide and magnesium oxide deposited on porous nickel metal, with the following ratio of components in wt %: nickel oxide 2.5-8.0, magnesium oxide 5.0-10.0, porous nickel metal - the rest. The invention also describes a method of preparing the catalyst, which involves saturating porous nickel metal which is in form of a belt with thickness of not less than 0.1 mm with a solution of magnesium salts followed by steps for drying, calcining in a stream of nitrogen, saturating with nickel nitrate solution, drying and calcining in a stream of nitrogen. The invention describes a method of producing synthetic gas via selective catalytic oxidation of hydrocarbons at 600-1100°C in the presence of the catalyst described above.
EFFECT: catalyst is characterised by high conversion of hydrocarbons and selectivity towards synthetic gas, resistance to carbonisation and high heat conduction.
