FIELD: individual protection means; manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ballistic resistant composite articles characterized by improved resistance to backface deformation. Ballistic resistant article contains vacuum panel that consists of the first surface, the second surface and housing. Vacuum panel restricts at least a part of the internal volume where vacuum is created. Ballistic resistant article comprises at least one ballistic resistant base that is connected to the first or second surface of the vacuum panel. Ballistic resistant base contains fibers and/or tapes with a specific strength of about 7 g/denier or more and tensile modulus of about 150 g/denier or more. Also, the ballistic resistant base is made of a rigid material not based on fibers or tapes. Method for producing ballistic resistant article is suggested, in which the ballistic resistant base is positioned so that it is on the outside of the ballistic resistant article, and said vacuum panel is positioned behind at least one said ballistic resistant base, ensuring the acceptance of any shock wave that arises from the impact of the striking element on the indicated ballistic resistant base.
EFFECT: weakened effect of shock waves generated as a result of the striking element impact, reduced value of the backface deformation, prevention or minimization of injuries from the prohibitive effect of bullets.
