FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: transformable mesh for sausage products has a sleeve form with longitudinal and cross elements; the longitudinal elements are represented by stitch chains consisting of one or more single thread(s) while the cross elements are passed through the stitches of the stitch chains of the longitudinal elements. At least one additional thread is included into the stitch chain of one of the longitudinal elements along the whole of its length; all the cross elements are formed from this thread and designed so that to enable increase of the length of the additional thread sections they consist of due to drawing the thread out of the longitudinal element. The method for production of the transformable mesh for sausage products having a sleeve form with longitudinal and cross elements involves formation of stitch chains of the longitudinal elements from one or more single thread(s) and connection of the longitudinal elements with the cross elements by way of passing the cross elements through stitches of the stitch chains of the longitudinal elements. In the process of the mesh production at least one additional thread is included into the stitch chain of one of the longitudinal elements along the whole of its length; from this thread, in the process of longitudinal elements stitch chains formation, one forms all the cross elements; each cross element is formed so that to enable increase of the length of the additional thread section it consists of due to drawing the thread out of the longitudinal element.
EFFECT: in the process of manufacturing the invention allows to produce a mesh in the shape of a rectilinear sleeve while in the process of formation of encased sausage products the mesh covering the casing assumes a curved form close to that of natural bung.
