FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: method for communicating between a network and user equipment (UE) fitted with a dual receiver involves receiving a first signal from a first network node at a first frequency, and receiving a second signal via a point-to-multipoint (PtM) control channel from a second network node at a second frequency. The method further involves receiving a request from the second network node at the second frequency, such that the request is transmitted over the PtM control channel, and transmitting to the first network node a response to the request from the second network node. An alternative method involves receiving information from a first network node, and identifying that the first network node lacks uplink capabilities. The method may further involve identifying that the first network node provides a MBMS service, and receiving the MBMS service from the first network node despite identification of the lack of uplink capabilities.
EFFECT: optimum use of cell resources by using a counting procedure to determine the number of UE interested in using the given service.
