FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, particularly, to sorbent intended for cleaning soil and water basins of oil products. Proposed method consists in that tannery dust is processed by intensive aeration to specific weight of 0.06-0.12 g/cm3. Aerated tannery dust is proposed to be sued for both cleaning water surface from oil film and oil sorption on soils followed by soil cultivation and oil product biodegradation into soil humus. Oil hydrocarbon biodegradation is performed in presence of claimed sorbent at 12-40°C for 60-90 days.
EFFECT: efficient and floatable oil sorbent.
