FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to making welded joints of zirconium and its alloys. Proposed method comprises preparing edges for welding and fusion welding in protective atmosphere. Then, weld joint is conditioned by not abrasive materials. Surfaces of weld joint and thermal effects zone are processed. Now, annealing is performed and oxide film is applied. Surface processing is performed by ultrasound to depth of 1-150 mcm.
EFFECT: lower costs, higher fatigue life of metal.
