METHOD OF MENTAL CONDITION CORRECTION Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61M21/00

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, more specifically to psychotherapy and aims at mental condition correction. It involves therapeutic fencing to create a stereotype of thinking having a fundamental importance for mental condition correction and self-correction of the patient. Therapeutic fencing is situated in a psychologist-patient partnership in four stages, wit pre-agreed fencing conditions providing the psychologist making aggressive attack, while the patient carries out protection or strikes back. At the first stage, goals, objectives, problems, habits of a patient's personality are identified by interviewing: establishing degree and pattern of motivation, acquainting the patient with principal provisions of the offered method, safety precautions, concluding a contract. At the second stage, behavioural, emotional and cognitive features of the patient are detected with applying a fencing language. The third stage involves establishing the patient's ability to control attention and formation of a behaviour strategy, and also a basis for formation of a personal life style with respect to stresses and problems with applying the fencing language. The fourth stage establishes the patient's ability to focus attention on specified goals, objectives, problems, degrees of attainment, necessity and specificity of the further efforts with applying the fencing language. Total duration of the four stages makes 4-6 weeks and contains 7-9 sessions every 3-4 days, then in 1-2 months the effectiveness of mental condition correction is controlled, telephone conversations are continue once a month if required.

EFFECT: method provides more efficient process of mental condition correction ensured by a higher degree of self-discipline and increased personal potential, and also eliminated social, interpersonal and intrapersonal problems of the person due to psychological reasons.
