METHOD FOR CONDITION CORRECTION IN PATIENTS SUFFERING SLEEP DISORDERS BY ELECTRICAL STIMULATION ON THE BASIS OF ELECTRODERMAL ACTIVITY RECORDING Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61N1/32 A61B5/04

Abstract RU 2431508 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to medicine, namely to neurology. Electrodermal activity signals are recorded as a physiological characteristic. Electric pulses of a galvanic skin response with relative amplitude more than 1 % is recovered from an average value of current conductivity. A number N of said pulses is determined. If the N value is more than or equal to 3.6 pulse/min, condition 1 is qualified; if the N value is less than 1.5 pulse/min, condition 2 is stated, and if the N value ranges within 1.5 to 3.6 pulse/min, condition 3 is indicated. In the condition 1, a stimulus is supplied to move to the conditions 2 or 3, or to waking up of the patient; in the condition 2 - to move to the conditions 1 or 3, or to waking up of the patient, and in the condition 3, the stimulus supply is delayed to the conditions 1 or 2. The nerves n.medianus, or n.tibialis, or n.vagus are stimulated, or transcranial brain stimulation is carried out. As an electric stimulus, rectangular pulses of carrier frequency 1-2 kHz, amplitude 50 to 500 mcA and current density 500 mcA/cm2 are supplied. In the condition 1, pulse duration is 100-200 ms, repetition rate is 0.5-4 Hz, and in the condition 2, duration is 10-20 ms, and repetition rate is 8-15 Hz.

EFFECT: method allows simplifying implementation of a sleep correction procedure.
