FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device for improvement of sleep quality comprises the electrodermal activity meter of the subject (14), separating the sleep phases in terms of the electrical resistance and the signals of the galvanic skin reaction (GSR), the stimulating electric pulse generator (24) connected to the pair of cutaneous electrodes (241), the muscle tone meter (16), a video stimulation unit (21) connected to the monitor (211), an audio stimulation unit (22) connected to the electro-acoustic transducer (222) and awekening stimulation unit (23). The control inputs of mentiond blocks and the pulse generator are connected to the control outputs of the analysis and control module (20), whose inputs are connected to the electrodermal activity meter and the muscle tone meter. The video stimulation unit forms moving images of visual stimulation pulses on the monitor screen, the rate of movement of which is set in direct dependence on the intensity of the GSR signals, and zeroes the indicated speed with decreasing the intensity of the GSR signals below the threshold level. The audio stimulation unit generates sound images for the relaxation of the subject whose parameters are adjusted in accordance with the current value of the electrodermal activity. The pulse generator provides non-stimulating pulses when delta sleep sets in, detected by the presence of minima on the dependence of electrodermal activity from the current time. The awakening stimulation unit provides stimulation pulses at the last REM sleep phase at the pre-determined time of morning awakening. The analysis and control module blocks the supply of sound images from the audio stimulation unit in the delta-sleep phases by signals from the muscle tone meter.
EFFECT: reducing the time of falling asleep and increasing the duration of the delta phase of sleep, which helps to deepen the feeling of sleep and to improve its quality.
