FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: described is a propylene homopolymer capable of blow extrusion from molten mass. Melt flow rate ranges from 300 to 2500 g/10 minutes at 230°C. Polydispersion index ranges from 1.3 to 2.9. Melting point is equal to 160°C. The invention also describes a method of producing fibre from a propylene homopolymer, involving reaction of a metallocene compound (I), an optional organoaluminium compound and a propylene monomer The invention also describes fibre, nonwoven material and multilayer nonwoven material from the propylene homopolymer.

EFFECT: obtaining a polymer with high melt flow rate and narrow molecular weight distribution, high melting point and low content of by-products in the melt.
