FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a composition of propylene homopolymer for the production of molded products, as well as to a method for its production, and to a molded product. The composition of propylene homopolymer contains (a) at least 90 wt. % of propylene homopolymer (A) of the total weight of the composition and (b) a nucleating agent (B) selective for beta-modification of isotactic polypropylene, in amount from 0.001 to 1.0 wt. % of the weight of the total composition of propylene homopolymer. Propylene homopolymer (A) has (i) pentad isotacticity (mmmm) of 98.0 mol. % or more, determined by quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance (hereinafter – NMR) spectroscopy of 13C, (ii) relative number of 2,1-erythroregiodefects of no more than 2.0 mol. %, determined by quantitative NMR spectroscopy of 13C. The specified composition of propylene homopolymer has a melt flow index MFR2 (230°C, 2.16 kg), according to ISO 1133, from 0.1 to 10 g/10 min and a beta-phase content of at least 80%, measured by a wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) method. The molded product of homopolymer can be obtained by pressing or extrusion of the specified composition of propylene homopolymer.
EFFECT: obtained composition of propylene homopolymer has improved mechanical properties, in particular high impact properties combined with high stereoregularity and limited number of regiodefects.
