SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method for estimating inducing action of herpes virus infection on the cholesterol content in puerperants suffered an acute condition of herpes virus infection in their third trimester of pregnancy, characterised by analysing placenta homogenate of the puerperants, evaluating a herpes virus (HSV-1) antibody titre by means of an immune-enzyme assay (IEA) in a spectrophotometre, then measuring the cholesterol contents in placenta homogenate by a spectrophotometric method, and as far as the herpes virus antibody titre increases, the cholesterol content in placenta homogenate is evaluated.
EFFECT: method allows evaluating a level of the cholesterol content in placenta of pregnant women in various degree of aggression of herpes virus infection.
