SUBSTANCE: communication server receives user information with recipient information in a message. User information contains information on the state of the user object and user object protocol. Based on said user object protocol information, the first protocol is defined as a preferred protocol. An attempt to deliver said message is made using a preferred protocol delivery mechanism. The second protocol is defined as a preferred protocol using user object protocol information after unsuccessful delivery of said message using the first protocol. An attempt to deliver the message is repeated using a preferred protocol delivery mechanism.
