FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to procedure for protection of metal items from atmospheric corrosion under conditions of salt spray when metal items are stored on open platforms, under sheds and in not heated premises at inter-seasonal period including conditions with increased content of micro-impurities of chlorides in air and at presence of alternate temperature (20-40°C) and humidity (relative humidity of air 70-100%) loads, and also at influence of chloride neutral mediums. The procedure consists in application of coating consisting of low-erucic rapeseed oil containing 20±5 wt % of synthetic fat acids.
EFFECT: utilisation of efficient, ecologically safe, practically feasible, accessible and quick renewable anticorrosion product as coating retarding rate of electro-chemical corrosion of steel.
