FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: at reception centres of a three-centre system, two antennae, a top and a bottom antenna at each centre, record time instances for receiving radio signals from the radio-frequency sources, mainly based on the time position of the leading edge of pulses of radio signals, wherein phase centres of top and bottom antennae lie in a certain manner. Spatial coordinates are determined from expressions which depend on the average values of repeatedly measured differences between reception times of corresponding radio signals. Accuracy is selected from three suggested alternatives for determining spatial coordinates of the object, which enables to obtain an axially symmetric coverage area of systems performing said selection and significantly increases volume thereof.
EFFECT: possibility of determining movement in space of an object - a radio-frequency source and possibility of varying configuration of the coverage area of the radio system and formation thereof depending on the set task.
