SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING AIR QUALITY IN AIRLINER PRESSURISED CABIN Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B64D13/06

Abstract RU 2433067 C2

FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems intended for improving air quality in pressurised cabin of airliner. Proposed system comprises air circulation system to extract portion of cabin air, so-called circulation air, from pressurised cabin and filter it and return into pressurised cabin. Definite amount of circulation air is forced, partially or completely, through nitrogen generator to produced thereof nitrogen- and oxygen-containing waste gases. Oxygen-containing waste gas of nitrogen generator together with remaining circulation air not treated in nitrogen generator is sent back into pressurised cabin. Nitrogen generator receiving only circulation air uses pressure gradient for nitrogen production existing in flight between pressurised cabin and outside atmosphere. Oxygen-containing waste gas generated by nitrogen generator is forced again into nitrogen generator to go on with nitrogen separation.

EFFECT: higher efficiency, increased partial oxygen pressure in air forced back into pressurised cabin.
