DEVICE TO DETERMINE DISPERSE COMPOSITION OF SPRAYED LIQUID JET DROPS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B05B12/08

Abstract RU 2433872 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to experimental hydrodynamics of dispersed flows and may be used in propulsion engineering to determine disperse characteristics of fuel and air jets, which may be used to determine distribution of jet drops by size. The device to determine the disperse composition of sprayed liquid jet drops comprises a nozzle that generates a jet of sprayed liquid, and is equipped with a strain gage sensor to register dynamics of liquid pressure variation in the nozzle. The sensor is connected via a strain gage amplifier with a unit of signals processing, a speed video camera for registration of light radiation that went through the disperse flow of air by two rings. In each of the rings oppositely to each other there is a source of light and a photoelectric cell designed to monitor one and the same mass of the liquid flow jet. The source of light radiation is a gas laser. The optical system is made in the form of a collimator and a membrane arranged serially with the laser. The nozzle with a strain gage sensor, a membrane, a collimator, a speed video camera and two rings are fixed in a protective jacket.

EFFECT: increased accuracy and validity of detection of disperse composition of drops of the sprayed liquid jet, and also expanded range of registration of liquid drops dispersed flow size as a result of no transformation of a sprayed liquid jet, and accordingly, breaking of drops by external excitation forces.
