FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine (ICE) includes compression degree control mechanism, gas distribution phase control mechanism and throttle valve. Compression degree control mechanism has the possibility of changing mechanical compression degree. Gas distribution phase control mechanism has the possibility of changing the outlet valve closing moment. Throttle valve is located in ICE inlet channel and controls the number of intake air. At drop of load on ICE the inlet valve closing moment shifts to the side from lower dead-point of intake stroke, and mechanical compression degree increases to maximum. At ICE operation in the range of loads which are lower than load on the engine, at which mechanical compression degree becomes maximum, mechanical compression degree is maintained at maximum value, and actual compression degree is decreased at decrease of load on the engine. The load at which mechanical compression degree assumes the value between maximum mechanical compression degree and mechanical compression degree during operation at full load shall be pre-set. At the load which is below the pre-set load, throttle valve is closed. Maximum expansion degree at maximum mechanical compression degree can be 20 or more. In the range of loads exceeding the pre-set load the throttle valve can be fully open. Opening angle of throttle valve can be decreased at decrease of load on the engine in the range of loads below the pre-set load.
EFFECT: providing favourable conditions for fuel ignition and combustion.
