SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine with spark ignition is equipped with timing phase control mechanism to vary intake valve closure interval after intake TDC and EGR-mechanism making portion of waste gas flow back into combustion chamber as EGR-gas. Said EGR-gas is controlled to make intake valve shift toward lag side so that EGR-gas ratio decreases solely in region whereat intake valve closure moment is located on lag side at particular closure moment. EFFECT: ruled out air-fuel ratio variations.
