SUBSTANCE: mixture of methacrylic copolymers has hydroxyl number from 40 mg/g to 250 mg/g, acid number from 15 mg/g to 80 mg/g, weight-average molecular weight M_w from 9 kg/mol to 40 kg/mol and glass transition point T_g from 40°C to 80°C. The mixture of (meth)acrylic copolymers is based on polymerised monomers, including at least one alkyl ester A of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, having 1-8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, at least one hydroxy-functionalised alkyl ester B of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, at least one aliphatic compound C, which is lactone or cyclic lactone, at least one vinyl monomer D, which does not contain a fragment formed from an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, at least one olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid E. Described is a method of obtaining the mixture and a method of using said mixture in producing paints.

EFFECT: high resistance to scratching, improved lustre and reduced dullness of film coatings.
