SUBSTANCE: method of generating cyclic redundancy checks (CRC) with respect to information bits and transmitting said information bits with the generated CRC in a communication system comprises steps for calculating a transport block CRC for a transport block with a plurality of information bits; segmenting the transport block with the transport block CRC into a plurality of subsets; calculating the plurality of CRC for said plurality of subsets; and transmitting said plurality of subsets and said plurality of CRC for said plurality of subsets.
EFFECT: improved methods and apparatus for generating cyclic redundancy checks for multiple code blocks in a communication system in order to detect errors in the communication system.
