METHOD OF FUEL TEMPERATURE REGULATION IN AIRPLANE FUEL SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B64D37/34

Abstract RU 2435709 C1

FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to aviation technology. Method of fuel temperature regulation in airplane fuel system uses cooling system of supplementary aggregates and motor oil with fuel return valve, as fuel heater. Signal from fuel temperature gauges comes to fuel amount calculation unit which defines mean fuel temperature. Signal with data on mean fuel temperature from fuel amount calculation unit passes to motor control unit together with signal from oil temperature gauge. When mean fuel temperature below permissible value or oil temperature above permissible value, signal from motor control unit opens valve of fuel return from motor. At the same time, fuel is fed to heat exchanger of cooling system of supplementary aggregates and motor oil in amount exceeding volume required for motor fueling. After heating in heat exchanger, fuel is drained back to fuel tank until mean fuel or oil temperature reaches relevant given value. Then a signal from motor control unit reduces fuel feed to inner motor circuit to amount required for motor fueling and closes fuel return valve.

EFFECT: streamlined method of fuel temperature regulation in airplane fuel system and reduced energy consumption.
