AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR HEATING RAIL BUS IN WINTER CONDITIONS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC B61D13/00

Abstract RU 2735962 C1

FIELD: rail vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to rail bus heating devices, and can be used in automotive industry to maintain comfortable temperatures in passenger compartment of passenger bus in winter period, as well as heating of diesel engine without using prestarting liquid heater. Automated system further includes a meter unit, a programming unit, a relay, an electric heater of flow type, an external power supply, four temperature sensors, the first of which is installed on the line of the short cooling circuit of the engine, the second one is installed on the line between the water pump and heated liquid distributor for cabin heating, third is installed in passenger bus cabin, fourth is installed on external wall of rail bus, measures ambient air temperature, as well as electric heater is installed on the line between two liquid prestart heaters and external power source, which is connected through storage battery power source to measurement and programming unit, which in turn are connected to all temperature sensors, and on the power line from an external current source to the electric heater of the flow type there is an additional relay which connects its contacts through the measurement unit to the programming unit.

EFFECT: reduced consumption of diesel fuel to 38 % in winter conditions, increased service life of acid accumulator batteries by 13 %, improved comfort conditions for passengers of rail bus before leaving for trip.
