FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention describes a heat transfer composition containing: (a) at least one fluoroalkene, having at least four halogen substitutes and does not contain bromine substitutes, at least three of said halogen substitutes are fluorine, where the fluoroalkene has formula (2) where each R is independently Cl, F, I or H, R' denotes a (CR2)nY, Y denotes CRF2 and n equals 0 or 1, provided that there is at least one H for an unsaturated terminal carbon; and (b) lubricating oil, provided that said lubricating oil and said coolant form one liquid phase at least at one temperature in an interval ranging from -50°C and +70°C and provided that said heat transfer composition has global warming potential of not more than approximately 1000. Disclosed also is a method of transferring heat into a fluid medium or an article, or from a fluid medium or an article, where the contacting step involves circulation in a cooling system or in an air conditioning system.
