FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for atomic-absorption determination of highly volatile elements in different inorganic objects involves thermal decomposition of a sample containing highly volatile elements selected from: mercury, selenium, arsenic and tellurium, in graphite furnace. A layer of palladium modifier is electrochemically deposited on the inner surface of the graphite furnace, followed by atomisation of highly volatile elements and feeding vapour of the determined elements into a measuring chamber. The modifier layer is deposited on the inner surface of the graphite furnace via internal electrolysis. Palladium is electrochemically released from an electrolyte containing a palladium salt solution and diluted sulphuric acid.
EFFECT: high accuracy of atomic-sorption determination of highly volatile elements.
