FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: equivalent compensating current of higher harmonic components group is generated either by extracted reactive component of power, or by jointly extracted reactive component and a share of active component, besides, the latter is extracted at least from one phase, making up a group of balanced phases, - so that the current of the main frequency harmonic that remained in each phase of the specified group picked by a non-balanced load has a module value equal to either the one that has been predetermined, or to the value of current module in the reference phase, which is previously determined from n-supply phases according to condition of maximum value of the module of the main frequency harmonic current. At the same time the reactive and active components of the main frequency harmonic current are extracted by means of an n-phase fully controllable PWM-rectifier, in the form of equivalent energy of sequence of unipolar and periodically repeating width-pulse current pulses, which after conversion into DC energy is used to generate the specified equivalent compensating current.
EFFECT: reduction of levels of higher harmonic components in a supply power system and increased efficiency of power usage.
