SUBSTANCE: invention relates to facilities of safe power application in coal mines, and also in explosive premises, atmosphere of which may contain combustible gases and vapours with explosive properties when mixed with air, for instance, an explosion-proof magnetic starter, comprising a body, where the following components are placed - a breaker, a current sensor, a sensitive element of leakage control, a coil of contactor control, a power supply unit, an indication unit, a coupling device with external systems of control, a unit of remote control, comprising an amplifier, to the input of which there is a coil of contactor control connected, and its input is connected to the output of the asymmetry control connected to the remote control line, in the end of which there is a control panel.

EFFECT: simplification, increased reliability and safety of operation, expansion of functional capabilities, achieved by the fact that the starter is additionally equipped with a central control unit based on a microcontroller, to which sensors and units are connected, and a unit of remote control additionally comprises a phase monitoring device, the output of which is connected to a central control unit.
